Similar experience for me, although my TMC doc was Portuguese and spoke good English.
He blamed "heaty" foods, and also gave me a monthly herbal supplement, luckily in a pill form, mixed by his specialty lab in Czech Republic, but I spent about €40 per appointment with him, plus €80 a month on the supps, so right around your £250 number 😅
