I wrote this post a week ago. God knows what’s happened since then. Hopefully I’m still breathing.
One thing’s for sure: since writing this my life has changed.

Hollywood Moments
For the better or worse? Who knows, a bit of both I’m sure- I’ve certainly got a week old.
You might be offended by my flippant use of the phrase life changing, but I’m of the opinion every week can is life changing.
We all seem to think it’s only the Hollywood moments: the lottery win or “the one” knocking on our door. But it’s rarely that clear cut.
Life changing opportunities are everywhere. The problem is that we fight them. Change is scary. But everyday is a chance to change your life. Every conversation. Ever moment. It’s gradual. But it builds momentum.
A Different Animal
Unplugged has been that on steroids. Every week we’re dealing with a wildly different company. Remarkable. I’ve been offline this week and no doubt will come back to a very different animal. I’m sure it benefited greatly from a week of my absence.
It’s an exciting idea: Every week we can change the company. Hopefully for the better. It feels like we’re getting bolder- more confident in our ability to affect change. So often it’s the boldest decision- verging on rash- that lead to the most positive changes. There’s a lot to be said for the rash decision; the burning of the boats.
Rash Decisions
In rut? Why not do something rash? Throw away your television. Book a flight to Mogadishu. Quit your job. There’s nothing stopping you taking that step you’ve been dreaming of for years- only the fear of change.
The good thing about being rash is it builds momentum. I booked a silent retreat in 2019. Rash, in my eyes. A week later I quit my job to launch a startup. A month later I went sober, ending a troubled decade of drink and drugs.
Newton’s first law: items in motion stay in motion.
Get in motion, that’s the challenge. Do that and your life will start changing beyond belief.
Go on. Do something rash.
My Week in Books📚
God knows what I read this week. All being well I’m heading home today. I shall have two weeks worth of books for you next Sunday. I hope you’re as excited as I am.
I’ll be updating the books I’ve read this year here. Any recommendations? Let me know!
A Final Thought 💡
